How do I make stretch cobwebs not look fake?
Pull the cobweb thinner than feels right, you want to see through it, then anchor it at only three to four points: top, two sides, occasional bottom. Add a single oversized spider near one anchor. Too much material is the giveaway.
Where should I put spider webs?
In corners, never on flat walls. Webs read as natural only when they bridge two surfaces, the corner of a window, a porch column to the ceiling, a tree branch to a fence. Flat-wall webs always look applied.
Do I need real spider props?
One large statement spider, 8 to 12 inches, beats a dozen small ones. Place it near the anchor of the web, not in the center. The smaller plastic spiders look fine sparsely scattered on a porch, not on the web itself.
